$44M AAI Cuts Ribbon on New Headquarters

Stratham, NH (March, 2001) Asian Atlantic Industries, Inc., a leading global independent distributor of computer components, hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at its new Worldwide Headquarters in Stratham, NH on March 21st .

The Honorable William Shaheen delivered a Welcome to New Hampshire message to 48 guests and employees before cutting the ceremonial ribbon. Honored Guest Officials included John Duclose, Director of the NH Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED); Kirk Scamman, Stratham Town Selectman; Pamela Saia, NH State Representative; Stratham Police Chief Michael Daley; Town Clerk Shirley Daley; Stratham Building Inspector Terry Barnes; and Assistant Moderator Jerry Howard.

Mr. Shaheen was introduced by Attorney Jay Nadeau of Portsmouth, General Council for AAI. In his welcome remarks, Mr. Shaheen said "this company is a perfect match for New Hampshire with high paying jobs in the high tech field, environmentally clean, with young men and women who are socially minded."

Tom Mahoney, AAI President, said "Everyone's participation today is a positive example of the support that people of New Hampshire's business community provide for each other. We look forward to continued growth and prosperity in our new location, and are proud to be making a contribution to New Hampshire's economy."

The Portsmouth Chamber of Commerce provided the official ribbon and large gold scissors, and Chamber President Caroline Marshall and several Chamber ambassadors attended the celebration.

AAI achieved sales of $44 million in 2000, and relocated from its former headquarters in Amesbury, MA to support ongoing growth, which earned AAI a spot on Entrepreneur and Dun & Bradstreet's Hot 100 Fastest Growing Companies in the US in 2000.
