$44 M Company Relocates to New Hampshire's eCoast
Stratham, NH (March, 2001) - Asian Atlantic Industries, Inc., a global independent distributor of computer components, has relocated its worldwide headquarters to Stratham, NH - and New Hampshire's eCoast region - effective March 1, 2001. AAI, founded in 1998, achieved sales of $44 million in 2000, and relocated from its former headquarters in Amesbury, MA to support ongoing growth.
According to Tom Mahoney, the company's president and co-founder, "the New Hampshire relocation process has been smooth, and we look forward to continued growth in our new operations center."
AAI's customers are primarily OEM's, or Original Equipment Manufacturers. With day-to-day needs changing at lightning speed in the computer components industry, Tom advises that a critical ingredient for success is providing support in 'real-time,' or tracking up-to-the minute facts and figures about product availability in the open market. "Our customers can't afford to lose production time waiting for availability of the components they need." Tom sees instances in which companies' entire production lines are halted, while waiting for a basic part. Conversely, OEM's depend on AAI's Market Intelligence for selling excess inventory efficiently, before it becomes a liability.
In 2000, AAI's "warp speed growth" earned acclaim in Entrepreneur Magazine and Dun & Bradstreet's annual list of the "Hot 100 Fastest Growing Companies in the US." For 2001, AAI has learned that they have been nominated for two similar mid-year awards.
